The Genesis Alliance, Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit, charitable organization under the laws of North Carolina on March 25, 2004, and is a tax-exempt public charity under 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The primary fund-raising event sponsored by the Genesis Alliance will be its annual Mother's Day Luncheon.

Each year, the Mother's Day Luncheon will feature a different non-profit that helps women or children in this community whose lives have been affected by domestic violence. The proceeds from the Mother's Day Luncheon each year will be donated to the featured non-profit.

The Genesis Alliance will also bring in and make available to schools and civic organizations expert speakers on topics related to domestic violence.

The work of The Genesis Alliance will be funded from dues paid by its members and from donations from individuals. It does not and will not receive money from United Way .

The Genesis Alliance is formed of only volunteers. There are no paid employees.

No member of the Genesis Alliance is paid anything other than reimbursement of expenses for supplies. Some members even donate these.

The Genesis Alliance, Inc. is independent and self-sustaining. It is not affiliated with, or an auxiliary to, any other non-profit.

Dues to join the Genesis Alliance are $40 (Active); $100 (Patron); $500 (Sustaining Life); or, $500 (Life - no annual dues).

Everyone interested in joining the effort to raise community awareness of the pervasiveness and effects of domestic violence is invited to join The Genesis Alliance.
